U.S. Education Challenges
By 2022, the U.S. will need 3.4 million more college grads with STEM training than educational institutions are on track to produce. Rural students, especially Native American students, can help fix this problem. Identifying ways to engage and prepare these students to successfully attain their high school diplomas and pursue post-secondary education is critical to fill the STEM workforce shortage and could impact the future economic prosperity of our nation. With 4 in 5 Native American Schools located in a rural area, the need to provide resources to support our Native American youth, teachers, and parents is a priority.
